Nov 20, 2021

The second semi-final match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 saw action between Vidarbha and Karnataka.

Though Karnataka went on to grab the game by four runs, Vidarbha pacer Darshan Nalkande picked four wickets in four balls straight. All of his four wickets came in the final over of Karnataka’s innings.

As soon as Nalkande completed the first wicket, he looked adamant enough to place another fine ball and he executed the same.

All the fine deliveries pushed the batters to play a shot which found fielders’ safe hands. A hat-trick in the game is already considered a huge feat for the bowlers but the Vidarbha pacer only got satisfied with four wickets in a go.

The falling of wickets began from Aniruddha Joshi and was followed by Sharath BR, J Suchith, and Abhinav Manohar. All the batters came and went in no time but the only big wicket can be called of Manohar who looked on a song while having collected 27 runs off 13 deliveries.

He was well supported by his partner and captain of the side Manish Pandey who smashed a fifty (54 off 42) to continue the momentum of the side.
