Ravi Dahiya vs Zavur Uguev Highlights, Men’s 57 kg Wrestling Live Score, Gold Medal Match, Tokyo Olympics: Ravi Kumar Dahiya bags silver medal in the men’s 57kg freestyle event after a 4-7 loss to Russia’s Zavur Uguev in the final. Ravi becomes the second Indian wrestler, after Sushil Kumar, to win the silver medal at the Olympic Games and a fifth wrestler to bag an Olympic medal. The Russian, a two-time World Championships gold medallist, was just too strong for the Indian and despite his best efforts, he couldn’t overpower the Russian at any given point in time.

Ravi Dahiya is the reigning Asian Champion in the men’s 57kg freestyle category and a bronze medallist at the 2019 World championships. He was silver medallist at the U23 World Championship in 2018 and heading into the Games reached the final and won a couple of ranking series in 61 kg. In the pre-quarters and quarters, Dahiya defeated Colombia Oscar Eduardo and Gerogi Valentinov of Bulgaria by technical superiority. In the finals, he was up against the experienced Sanayev and after trailing 2-9, he pinned the Kazak wrestler in the dying moments of the bout to make it to the Final.

Congratulations poor in as he won the silver medal for India . From President Ramnath Kovind to Prime Minister Narendra Modi . Earlier in the day Mens Hockey team had created the history with their first Olympic medal after 4 decades . Prime minister Modi had phoned up the captain of Mens hockey team to congratulate their win for Bronze medal . While he did the same when Ravi Dhaiya when he was unable to defeat the Russian in his Gold Medal match. But yet he was able to create history as he came the second wrestler to win an Silver medal in Olympic.
