India vs Spain; India defeats Spain by 3-0 in Tokyo Olympics

Indian men’s hockey team gave a thorough performance as they defeated Spain 3-0 in the Pool A clash in men’s hockey. Earlier, the mixed team of Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary performed well but failed to qualify for medal round matches, getting knocked out in Stage 2 qualifications. Team of Yashaswini Deswal and Abhishek Verma were also knocked out after Stage 1.

Ma Long takes on India’s veteran Sharath Kamal in men’s singles third round. Indian shuttlers will also be in action as Satwiksairaj Ranikreddy and Chirag Shetty play their Group A game in men’s doubles. Indian athletes will also be in action in sailing, and boxing.

After a tough loss against Australia, India has come back to win 3-0 against Spain. India climbs up to the 2nd spot after this dominant victory in the Pool A table. Simranjeet Singh scored the 1st goal after coming in for the 1st time. After that, Rupinder Pal Singh scored a penalty stroke and from a penalty corner. They are now 3 points behind the 1st placed Australia, which has won all its matches. This is India’s second win in 3 matches after they won their opening fixture against New Zealand 3-2. It was a much-needed win for Team India. With a great start to Day 4.

In the first quarter, India took the lead as Simranjeet Singh scored the goal and the early nerves for the Manpreet Singh-led side eased a bit. Soon after Rupinder Pal Singh scored as well, giving India a 2-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

No goals were scored in the second and third quarters, and India held on to the 2-0 lead. However, Spain was looking good while making attacking moves, and India had a tough task in holding them off.

In the fourth quarter, Rupinder scored one more goal as he successfully converted from a penalty corner, and hence India gained a 3-0 lead. In the end, India managed to hold on and walked away with a victory
