The Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered a lockdown in five cities of UP till April 26, considering the prevailing Covid-19 situation. The lockdown was ordered in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur.
Corona cases have massively increased in last few days and as per the order of High court government have taken steps. Government have taken strict steps against it and will do it further also.
There will be no complete lockdown in the cities because livelihood of poor has to be saved . Other than that people are willing shutting down many places said by the Government. Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Ajit Kumar contended that the stricter novel coronavirus curbs would also ensure that the frontline healthcare workers get respite and can pay more attention to the patients who are already admitted.
Uttar Pradesh government had moved Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order on imposing lockdown in its five cities.The UP government, represented by solicitor general Tushar Mehta, mentioned the matter before the Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde. On the ground that the High Court did not have the domain to issue such kind of directions.
As per the union health ministry, there are currently 2,08,523 active cases in Uttar Pradesh. So far, 6,61,311 recoveries and 9,997 deaths have been reported in the state.
The Supreme Court will take up the case after two weeks. Senior lawyer PS Narasimha has been asked to assist the court.
UP Government have imposed the night curfew in the cities having more than 500 cases . And also announced weekend lockdown in the state.
However the essential services will be opened. Malls,theaters etc will remain closed. The medical services and medical shops shall be opened.
Things allowed after restrictions
The vaccination centers and covid tests will be ongoing. Covid guidelines will be followed strictly mask will be necessary for all .
As per the covid guidelines in any functions there will be only 50 persons will be allowed. Back than it was 100. Person will be fined if he/she will break the rules and will not follow the covid guidelines.
In grocery shop not more than 3 personnel will be allowed. All hotels, restaurants and even the small eating points on carts etc shall remain closed.
A necessary permission would have to be taken from the District Magistrate of the district concerned in the case of fixed marriage.
All public movements on roads would remain restricted subject to above directions. Movements would be only allowed in case of medical help and emergencies.
