Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the government is committed to the welfare of farmers
Addressing the nation, PM Modi said that the government has brought several welfare schemes for small farmers and added that the NDA government’s agri budget has increased five times. He said that the rural infrastructure market has strengthened in the last six years and as a result, overall agricultural production has increased in the country.
“I have experienced farmers’ difficulties, challenges from very close quarters in my five decades of public life,” he said while highlighting the NDA government’s measures to benefit small farmers.
The last time the Prime Minister addressed the nation it was right after India scripted history by becoming only the second country after China to reach the one billion COVID-19 vaccinations milestone mark in October.
