Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 review, buckle up we got spoilers! The twists & the reunions will blow you up, expect the unexpected

Jul 2, 2022

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 released Friday, July 1.

We have all been waiting with bated breath for Volume 2 of Stranger Things 4, and it is finally here. While the first part of Stranger Things 4 was released on May 29, the final two episodes dropped Friday, July 1. So, was the wait and the hype worth it? Definitely! Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 2 is everything you expected and everything you did not. Goosebumps guaranteed. Duffer Brothers bring you four hours of unfiltered entertainment.

Many of you may have been wondering why would the makers release only two episodes, (Papa and The Piggyback), when fans simply cannot have enough? But, once you start watching, you know why. The writers beautifully manage to weave four parallel storylines to reach a climax that we bet you cannot guess. So, did Vecna and Eleven have a face-off and who (or who all) die this season? Here are our two cents on Stranger Things 4 Volume 2

Volume 2 begins with the season’s villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) having a face-off. But it is nothing like you expected. Slowly the season progresses to answer many questions that may have popped into your mind, and by the end of Season 4, most loose ends get tied.

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is fighting the evils of mankind before she goes on to fight in the Upside Down. While Eleven and Dr Brenner continue their disagreement and fight, the city of Hawkins is almost near its fall. Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) and Argyle (Eduardo Franco) are on a mission to find El. While in Russia, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) have their much-awaited romantic moment. The other kids, Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), Nancy, Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry), Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke), Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) hatch a rather amateurish plan to distract and kill Vecna.

So, did the gang find El? Do Joyce, Jim and Murray escape Russia? And what happens to Vecna? This time, the Duffer Brothers did not bring the gang together but, at the same time, there are many emotional reunions that will tug at your heartstrings.

However, what has all our attention are the final few minutes of the show. The climax is exactly what you would have thought — spine-chilling. The makers beautifully weave the plot and give us an unfathomable conclusion to Season 4. Will the city of Hawkins fall? Will Eleven and the gang survive the next challenge? Guess you will have to see to know!

Talking about performances, much like Volume 1, Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown’s acting is commendable. The duo bring new life to their characters in every scene and it’s a delight to watch them. While Max gets a visit from Vecna again, Eleven tries to save her. The makers have beautifully portrayed how true friendship can help overcome everything. For fans who were excited about the Eleven vs Vecna fight, Volume 2 will satiate your hunger. Worth all the hype, we say.

Coming to the rest of the gang, Eduardo Franco AKA Argyle and Joseph Quinn AKA Eddie Munson steal the limelight. This time, Stranger Things writers made sure to use the full potential of the two side characters, and it is a total winner! Throughout the four hours, the dynamic characters keep you hooked. Anything can happen at any time!

Noah Schnapp AKA Will has been hiding his emotions for long. Episode 8 gives him much-needed emotional relief. Noah nails the act and all of us collectively feel for the boy. He not only progresses to give the painting to Mike but also has a heart-to-heart with his brother, Jonathan

Writers have also let fans explore more of Dustin and Eddie’s friendship. The duo stay with each other in bad times, so much that Eddie can be hailed as the hero (you will know!). While fans were expecting to see more of Joesph as Henry Creel, his act as Vecna will leave you impressed.

Talking about the music and screenplay, Kate Bush is back with Running Up That Hill and it once again becomes a major part of the climax. The screenplay, parallels, jump cuts and camera work are brilliant. The Duffer Brothers take you into the skin of the characters and you too become a part of the Upside Down.

So how does all of this end, if it ends at all? Did the gang kill Vecna or is there a bigger evil waiting? We leave the Duffer Brothers to prepare for a mind-blowing finale. Meanwhile, guess we are all busy this weekend, watching Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. It is going to be one crazy ride, buckle up!
