Today in most of the countries super moon, flower moon and blood moon will be visible. On this day three spectacular events in night will occur. Flower moon, Super moon and Blood Moon. It’s a feast for stargazers tonight.
This blood moon will occur when the full moon will be covered by the shadow of the earth. Today’s blood moon will the biggest full moon of the year.
What is Flower Moon?
The full moon, which will be illuminated as the light of higher wavelengths strikes its surface, is also known as the Flower Moon. The term comes from the use by the native American tribes as it is the time of year when spring flowers appear in abundance.
According to Nasa, “Compared to other Full Moon of the year 2021, the Flower Moon will have the nearest approach to Earth, making it appear as the closest and largest Full Moon of the year. This big moon seen in the skies is called Supermoon.”
How does Lunar Eclipse occur?
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth’s dark shadow or umbra. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker, taking on a rusty or blood-red colour. The colour is so striking that lunar eclipses are sometimes called Blood Moons.
The deep red, orange colour of the moon during an eclipse is a combination of physics working with Earth’s atmosphere to create the spectacular visual. Sunlight bends and scatters as it passes through Earth’s atmosphere. In the air, colours at the blue and violet end of the rainbow scatter more widely than colours like red and orange. The red light travels a straighter path through the air through a thick slice of Earth’s atmosphere before reaching our eyes.
The flower moon or the Blood moon can be watched in India during 3;15 pm to 6;23 pm. The duration mentioned above is partial phase timing. The initial time to watch the blood or flower moon is 4;58pm.
