As the southwest monsoon is all set to lash parts of Karnataka by June 2, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 10 districts of the state, including Bengaluru.
According to the weather department, heavy rainfall is likely to lash Uttara Kannada, coastal districts, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Hassan, Shivamogga, Ramanagara, Kodagu, and Chikkamagaluru.
LIGHT SHOWERS PREDICTED
As per the prediction by the weather department, Bengaluru is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms on June 3-4 with the mercury hovering around 21 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the city may receive showers of up to 7 mm in the coming two or three days.
Predicting the advancement of southwest monsoon, IMD wrote, “Southwest Monsoon has advanced over some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, some parts of Karnataka, the entire Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, entire southeast Bay of Bengal, some more parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal” (sic)
