From BJP, Namami Gange’s state co-convenor and senior BJP leader Dr. Veerpal Nirwal is in the fray, while from the opposition, Satyendra Balyan, the brother of Union Minister of State, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, is trying his luck. After the election of the Zilla Panchayat member, the sequence of changing sides of the members continued regularly.

Especially the Muslim district panchayat members sometimes appeared in the BJP camp and sometimes with the opposition. Even the SP office-bearers could not stop the member of their house from joining the BJP

Both sides are claiming their victory: Both the BJP and the opposition camp are claiming victory on the post of District Panchayat President. The BJP is showing the support of 28 district panchayat members in its favor, while the opposition is also repeating the same figure in its favor. The opposition has also accused the BJP of breaking the district panchayat member. Two days ago, Chaudhary Naresh Tikait, the national president of BKU, met the DM and SSP along with Satyendra Balyan. He had demanded fair elections from the administration.

Reputation of Balyan and Opposition at stake

Five years ago, Union Minister of State, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, through political strategy, had made the ruling SP in the election of Panchayat President. With her diplomacy, Aanchal became the District Panchayat President and completed her five-year term. This time also the challenge in front of Dr. Balian is no less.

Opposition’s candidate Satyendra Balyan is his third brother, while BJP’s Dr. Veerpal Nirwal is the candidate. By the way, Dr Balyan is in favor of BJP candidate and he has joined BJP by breaking many members.

Khatauli MLA Vikram Saini has uploaded a video on his Facebook, in which several district panchayat members of the MLA are walking in the hilly area. It is clear from this that the Zilla Panchayat members are staying in the hilly area along with the MLA. He will probably come to the district on Friday night. Union Minister of State Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan’s brother Vivek Baliyan and Satyavrat Baliyan are also seen in the video.

The opposition was initially unanimous about Satyendra Balyan. Azad Samaj Party and SP had announced the name of Tehseen Bano after holding a press conference, to which BKU and RLD had objected. Both the parties were trying to make Satyendra Balyan the candidate. SP and Azad Samaj Party had objection to this. Later, Choudhary Naresh Tikait declared Satyendra Balian and Tehseen Bano as joint candidates by doing panchayat at his residence in Sisauli.

It was announced that if the opposition wins, he will become the Zilla Panchayat President for two and a half years. Both the candidates agreed to this. Along with Dr. Veerpal Nirwal and Satyendra Balian, Tehseen Bano had also nominated, but due to flaws in the nomination papers, their nomination was canceled by the administration. On which SP and RLD had demonstrated in the court.
