BANGALORE: Continuous rain is pouring in various districts of Karnataka. The district administration has issued two days leave for school and college in Bangalore rural, Tumkur, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagar and Chamarajanagar districts.
In other districts, the Department of Education has issued a circular giving the authority to grant leave to the district authorities to look into the situation. If the rains make it difficult for students to come to the school, the department can take necessary action, the Education Department said
The same situation is likely to continue for another week in different districts of Karnataka. The Department of Meteorology says heavy rain is expected until November 23.
Red Alert has been declared in the Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Hassan, Shimoga and Kodagu districts.
Yellow Alert has been announced for Bangalore Rural, Bangalore City, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagar and Tumkur Districts.
The Orange Alert has been declared in Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadagiri districts
