Sangolli Rayanna statue and poster Vandalised in Belagavi last night by MES

Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai has said that strict action will be taken against the accused. And 27 members are arrested as MES party workers yesterday vandalised Sangolli Rayanna Statue and attacked Buses and police vehicles. The members also sorted to pelt stones on Police vehicles.

In Belagavi, late night gangsters committed acts of violence, damaging Sangolli Royanna’s statue and pelting stones on buses and government vehicles. Now Belgaum police have arrested 27 accused and are investigating.

Talking to media persons in Hubli about this, Bommai said, “I condemn the MES ritual. We will take strict action against the accused. Many have already been arrested. It is illegal to damage public property. There are many reasons behind the scandal. “I have instructed senior officials to take strict action on this issue.”

The statues of patriots must be respected. They should not be insulted. It is not okay to cause disturbance in society. I have ordered the police to take long action. Having said that, I have been advised that it shouldn’t be repeated .
