Yesterday late night nearly at 11pm a four story building was collapsed to ground. As of 12:30 am there were no injuries reported but as the rescue operation carried out further 11 people have been reported to be lost their lives till now.
A house collapsed in Malad West area of Mumbai at around 11 pm. According to the locals there were 7 people in the 4 Story building and some of them are saved. Two more building which were opposite to it were also collapsed as the local said.
According to a local ” It was a 4-storey building sheltering at least 7 people. 5 of them rescued so far. Two more buildings opposite to it were demolished. 2 children rescued from there. Police arrived as soon as we called them followed by arrival of fire brigade” : Shahnawaz khan, a local said to ani at 12:30 am.
According to another local he rushed out of house as he saw that three building including a dairy was collapsing and somehow he managed to escape the incident. Here’s what the local resident siad

For now updates have said that 15 people have been rescued and 11 people have been reported to be dead. The BMC had updated it two hour ago to us.
The search and rescue operation by the fire brigade is still going on. As per updates, 11 people have been reported dead so far: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Residential structures collapsed in New Collector compound, Malad West of Mumbai last night.
Why did the House Collapse ?
According to a MLA he said that the incident was reported because due to rainfall. Buildings have collapsed due to rain. Rescue operation is underway. Injured people have been shifted to the hospital. Debris of the buildings being removed to see if more people are stuck under it: Maharashtra Minister Aslam Shaikh.
15 people including women & children have been rescued & are shifted to the hospital. There is a possibility of more people stuck under the debris. Teams are present here to rescue people,” says Vishal Thakur, DCP Zone 11, Mumbai. Said a report in Ani.
